About the role

The University of Miami’s Bascom Palmer Eye Institute is seeking a full‑time Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) 2 to provide intermediate patient care in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Reporting to a registered nurse, the CNA will support patient hygiene, nutrition, and basic medical procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with bathing, dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene.
• Provide feeding assistance, ambulation, turning, and positioning.
• Administer non‑sterile dressings, enemas, therapeutic baths, and apply restraints as needed.
• Collect specimens, perform urine testing, attach EKG leads, and manage catheters.
• Monitor and record vital signs, intake/output, and report changes to the assigned nurse.
• Support minor physical therapy routines and transport patients/equipment.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and adhere to university policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Certified Nursing Assistant license.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant CNA experience.
• Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends.
• Commitment to confidentiality, detail‑orientation, and university core values.
