Full‑Time Biology Instructor (BCHT)

About the role

Albany Technical College is seeking a full‑time Biology Instructor to teach Anatomy & Physiology and Microbiology for its Associate of Science Nursing programs. The position is based at the Dougherty Campus and may involve occasional travel within the service area.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver in‑person, online, hybrid, and lab instruction for Anatomy & Physiology and Microbiology courses.
• Manage enrollment, curriculum delivery, and assessment for dual‑enrollment and regular classes.
• Evaluate student progress, provide tutoring, and support nursing students in meeting learning objectives.
• Collaborate with department colleagues on curriculum development and serve on cross‑functional college teams.
• Prepare and maintain required documentation, administrative reports, and safety compliance records.
• Participate in staff development, workshops, seminars, and conferences.
• Assist with student recruitment, retention, and job placement initiatives.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Human Biology, Anatomy/Physiology, Cell Biology, Zoology, Microbiology, Genetics, or a related field (or an advanced professional degree such as M.D., D.O., D.D.S., D.M.D.).
• Minimum of 18 graduate semester hours (30 quarter hours) in the teaching discipline if the degree is in a related field.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Availability for weekend and evening instruction as needed.
