Full-Time Visitor Access Security Officer

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring a full-time Security Officer focused on visitor access in Columbia, SC. The role serves and safeguards clients across a range of industries, acting as a professional front-desk presence while supporting access control and badge processes. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Key responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees and vendors by following site-specific procedures, access-control protocols and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Greet guests, verify visitor information, issue visitor credentials and direct people to the right locations.
• Monitor entry points, visitor activity and communication systems, reporting unusual activity according to site procedures.
• Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, notify the right people and document events as required.
• Maintain accurate visitor logs, package records and other front-desk documentation.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Subject to a background investigation and a drug screen to the extent permitted by law; licensing may be required depending on state and local law.
• A valid driver's license is required only for driving positions.

Required skills

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
