Full-Time Technical Instructor – Medical Assisting

About the role

Atlanta Technical College seeks a Full‑Time Technical Instructor for its Medical Assisting Program. The instructor will deliver didactic, laboratory, and clinical instruction, support student success, and ensure compliance with accreditation standards.

Key responsibilities

• Teach courses covering medical terminology, pharmacology, anatomy & physiology, clinical procedures, EHR, and medical law & ethics.
• Develop lesson plans aligned with CAAHEP standards and facilitate skills labs such as phlebotomy, injections, medication administration, EKG acquisition, vital signs, and patient assessment.
• Evaluate student performance, provide academic advising, remediation, and certification exam preparation.
• Assist with clinical site placement, maintain communication with externship/preceptor sites, and track graduate placement and credentialing pass rates.
• Maintain documentation for accreditation, state regulatory compliance, and participate in program review and faculty committees.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree or higher in medical assisting or related health field (Bachelor’s preferred).
• Current credential(s) such as CMA, RMA, or CCMA.
• Three to five years recent clinical experience in ambulatory care.
• Teaching or training experience in a higher‑education setting.
• Proficiency with EHR systems and Microsoft Office.
