Full-Time Security Officer - Retail Patrol Compliance

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring a full-time unarmed Security Officer for a retail location in Sterling Heights, Michigan. The officer patrols assigned areas, maintains a visible presence to deter security incidents, supports access control and assists customers and employees. The position is paid $17 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, customers and employees by carrying out security procedures, site policies and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond calmly to incidents, disturbances and critical situations, following reporting and escalation procedures.
• Carry out regular and random unarmed patrols of sales areas, entrances, parking areas and the perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious behavior, hazards and policy violations.
• Maintain accurate activity logs and incident reports and communicate professionally with store personnel, customers and responding public service agencies.

Required profile

• At least six months of security-related experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles (21+ for armed roles).
• Preferred: access control and badge experience, customer service experience, and comfort using a computer or tablet.
• Subject to a background investigation and a drug screen to the extent permitted by law; licensing may be required depending on state and local law.

• Monday: 6:00 PM - 11:30 PM
• Tuesday: 1:00 PM - 11:30 PM
• Saturday: 1:00 PM - 11:30 PM
• Sunday: 1:00 PM - 11:30 PM
