Full-Time Pre‑Op Registered Nurse

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Full‑Time Pre‑Op Registered Nurse to join our team at Prince William Ambulatory Surgery Center in Manassas, VA. You will be responsible for preparing patients for surgery, ensuring safety, comfort, and clear communication throughout the pre‑operative process.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive pre‑operative assessments, reviewing medical histories, medications, and current health status.
• Educate patients and families about the surgical procedure, addressing questions and reducing anxiety.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the surgical team to ensure a smooth workflow.
• Maintain strict adherence to safety, infection‑control, and regulatory protocols.
• Document assessments and interventions accurately in the electronic health record.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in Virginia.
• Minimum 2 years experience in PACU or Critical Care (preferred).
• Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication abilities.
• Ability to prioritize workload and make sound nursing judgments.

Required skills

• BLS certification (required).
• ACLS certification (required).
• PALS certification (if required by the center).
