About the role
The University of Miami Health System is seeking a full‑time pharmacist to join its Kendall campus. The pharmacist will compound, dispense, and manage medication orders within a clinical environment, ensuring safety and compliance with all regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Implement and maintain procedures for mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals in accordance with policies and legal requirements.
- Compound and dispense medications prescribed by physicians and dentists, accurately calculating dosages.
- Assess identity, strength, and purity of medications and perform drug utilization reviews.
- Review prescriptions for accuracy, suitability, and potential interactions.
- Provide patients and staff with information on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage.
- Analyze prescription trends to monitor compliance and prevent misuse.
- Maintain pharmacy records, inventory logs, and controlled substance registries.
- Advise customers on medication brands, medical equipment, and healthcare supplies.
- Adhere to university policies, safeguard assets, and support team initiatives.
Required profile
- Doctorate degree in Pharmacy (PharmD) required.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant pharmacy experience.
- Valid State of Florida Registered Pharmacist license.
- Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
