Full-Time Hybrid Surgery Scheduler (Level 2)

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a full‑time, hybrid Surgery Scheduler 2 to act as the liaison between patients, clinical staff, and physicians. You will coordinate surgical and diagnostic procedures, ensure accurate scheduling, and support the scheduling team.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain pre‑authorizations from insurance companies and verify patient coverage.
• Produce, distribute, and maintain surgical and procedural schedules for physicians and departments.
• Coordinate with hospitals, vendors, and external facilities for special cases and direct admissions.
• Ensure all consents, clearances, labs, and documentation are scanned into UChart (Epic) before surgery.
• Communicate continuously with patients, families, and providers to confirm appointments and address any issues.
• Provide coverage for absent co‑workers and assist with mini‑registrations as needed.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum three years of relevant experience in surgical scheduling or a related healthcare administrative role.

Required skills

• UChart (Epic) electronic health record system.
• JMH Miracle System scheduling platform.
• UMH system for hospital coordination.
