Full-Time Dental Hygienist

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Surgery is seeking a full-time Dental Hygienist to provide preventive and therapeutic oral health services to patients in Miami. Working under the direct supervision of a dentist, you will perform clinical procedures, educate patients, and help maintain high standards of oral care.

Key responsibilities

• Perform root planning, prophylaxis, oral irrigation, fluoride treatments, and sealant applications.
• Take and develop dental X‑rays to assist in diagnosis.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene, nutrition, and regular dental check‑ups.
• Assist the dentist with procedures and maintain accurate patient records.
• Clean, sterilize instruments and manage supply requisitions.

Required profile

• Associate degree in dental hygiene and relevant certification.
• Minimum of one year of dental hygiene experience.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize work under pressure.
• Capability to handle confidential patient information discreetly.
• Willingness to work evenings, nights, and weekends as needed.
• Commitment to the University’s core values and ability to work independently or collaboratively.
