About the role

Columbus Technical College is seeking a qualified professional to join the team as a Full-time Commercial Truck Driving Instructor. You will deliver classroom, range, and behind‑the‑wheel training to students preparing for a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and a career in the transportation industry.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality instruction in classroom, driving range, and on‑vehicle settings.
• Teach vehicle inspection, basic vehicle systems, safe operating procedures, defensive driving, and trip planning.
• Evaluate student progress against course objectives and industry standards.
• Maintain compliance with Technical College System of Georgia curriculum, federal and state regulations, and industry expectations.
• Travel to off‑campus locations across multiple counties and teach flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in commercial motor vehicle operations.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations, vehicle inspection procedures, and defensive driving practices.
• Ability to work physically demanding tasks such as getting under trucks and walking alongside vehicles.
