Full Stack Ground Software Engineer II – Lunar Permanence

About the role

Blue Origin is seeking a Full Stack Ground Software Engineer II to join its Lunar Permanence program. The engineer will develop, test, and integrate mission‑critical software for the Lunar Permanence Mission Operations Centers, enabling safe and reliable lunar surface missions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, verify, and deploy safety‑critical ground software supporting lunar vehicle operations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including vehicle, mission‑control, and operations engineers—to define requirements, architectures, and designs.
• Develop rapid prototypes to evaluate concepts and mitigate technical risk.
• Lead system verification and qualification activities in partnership with mission‑control infrastructure engineers.
• Produce documentation such as architecture diagrams, verification plans, user manuals, and training material.
• Follow Blue Origin’s software development processes to ensure safety and reliability.
• Support frequent update cycles for pre‑flight testing, mission validation, and operator training.
• Maintain and improve mission‑control software during training, verification, and flight operations.
