Full Stack Developer

About the role

Magellan AI is seeking an experienced full‑stack developer to join a small engineering team and help launch a major new feature while enhancing the core product. The role blends traditional development with guiding AI coding agents to deliver high‑quality software.

Key responsibilities

• Add new features to a Ruby on Rails application, collaborating with operations and sales.
• Direct AI coding agents (Claude Code, Codex), framing problems, reviewing output line‑by‑line, and iterating on solutions.
• Improve system quality using TDD, refactoring, and architecture decision records.
• Write specifications, ADRs, and product documentation for both people and AI agents.
• Extend internal tooling and CLI helpers to codify workflows.
• Build AI‑facing APIs (MCP server) with authentication, policy, and audit logging.
• Enhance front‑end usability with Turbo, Stimulus, and Bootstrap.
• Troubleshoot performance issues across Postgres and ClickHouse.

Required profile

• 3+ years of software development experience.
• Experience with Agile web development, TDD, and refactoring.
• Comfort working daily with AI coding agents or a strong willingness to adopt them.
• Clear technical writing skills for specs, ADRs, and documentation.
