FRP Technician – Industrial Services

About the role

Austin Industrial is seeking a safety‑focused FRP Technician to install, fabricate, repair, and maintain Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) systems in industrial environments. The role involves working on piping, tanks, ducts, and structural components while adhering to project specifications and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Fabricate, install, assemble, and repair FRP components using hand lay‑up, spray‑up, filament winding, and laminating processes.
• Cut, shape, and fit fiberglass materials according to drawings and specifications.
• Inspect FRP systems for defects and perform field repairs during plant outages.
• Prepare surfaces through grinding, sanding, and cleaning; mix resins, catalysts, and hardeners.
• Apply protective coatings, liners, and corrosion‑resistant systems.
• Conduct quality checks, document issues, and support QA/QC inspections.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, grinders, and sanders.

Required profile

• Experience with composite materials, resins, and fiberglass systems.
• Ability to read and interpret project drawings and specifications.
• Strong focus on safety and compliance with industry standards.
• Capability to work onsite in industrial settings, including during turnarounds.

Required skills

• Hand lay‑up, spray‑up, filament winding, laminating.
