Reliability Engineer

About the role

The Reliability Engineer will provide technical assistance to maintenance supervision, ensuring the repair and continuous improvement of all process equipment across the plant. The role focuses on equipment reliability, failure analysis, and supporting safety and process improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Demonstrate a strong safety culture and participate in the PACE safety program.
• Assist maintenance supervision with repair and improvement of process equipment.
• Develop and refine maintenance procedures for equipment repair.
• Perform equipment failure analysis to prevent recurrence.
• Monitor shop repairs to ensure timely and proper completion.
• Collaborate with engineers to create maintenance procedures.
• Participate in process improvement programs such as Six Sigma.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of maintenance/reliability experience in the petrochemical industry.
• Professional certifications (PE, CMRP, API 510) are a plus.
• Strong communication, problem‑solving, planning and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Experience with rotating and stationary equipment.
• Knowledge of pumps, seals, turbines, centrifugal compressors, fans and lubrication systems.
• Familiarity with ASME Section VIII, corrosion, metallurgy and OSHA process safety management.
• Failure analysis techniques, including root cause analysis.
• Proficiency with a CMMS database.
• Competent use of MS Word and PowerPoint.
