Frozen Foods Clerk

About the role

Hy-Vee is hiring a Frozen Foods Clerk in its Frozen Foods department in Shakopee. The role provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service, rotates and replenishes merchandise, keeps the department clean and safe, and checks case temperatures. It reports to the Frozen Department Manager and sits within the store's operations hierarchy.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers by name, escort them to products, load or unload heavy items and take customer orders by phone
• Rotate and replenish merchandise, build end-cap displays and keep shelves neat with visible labels
• Clean cases and floors, keep the storage area organized and the temperature constant and correct
• Unload trucks, check in product, put it away and review invoices
• Order product and supplies, assist with inventory and price products as needed
• Follow company policies on hygiene, dress and punctuality

Required profile

• No education requirement; six months or less of similar or related work experience preferred
• Ability to solve practical problems, do arithmetic with fractions, decimals and percentages, and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently
• Visual acuity from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet, with or without correction
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with noise, temperature extremes and dampness

The anticipated starting hourly wage is $13.00 to $16.25 depending on experience. Employment is contingent on a pre-employment drug screen.
