Front End Manager - Customer Service

About the role

Meijer is hiring a Front End Manager (Area Leader) in Coldwater, Ohio. The leader is responsible for the overall engagement of team members in their span of care, including recognition, feedback, coaching, performance management, training and development, and succession planning. They direct Leads and Team Leaders and are accountable for area operations and financials such as shrink, productivity, safety, scheduling and staffing forecasts.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure team members receive appropriate onboarding, training, development, coaching and feedback.
• Identify talent and hold career conversations to build a diverse pipeline for team member and leadership roles.
• Hold candid discussions so Meijer standards are upheld and team members can grow within the organization.
• Own area operations and financial results, including budget line items in the P&L, and oversee the execution of corporate plans to maximize sales and productivity.
• Drive safety and compliance, condition management and adherence to compliance procedures in the store.
• Make sure Team Leaders and Leads assign daily work and training needs.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly and precisely with team members.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information to make informed decisions.
• Strong business acumen and understanding of seasonal and diverse merchandising.
