French World Language Teacher – Atlanta Public Schools

About the role

Atlanta Public Schools seeks a self‑motivated French World Language Teacher to deliver face‑to‑face instruction in an elementary or secondary classroom. The teacher will create a respectful, tolerant environment while ensuring student success through differentiated instruction.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver French lessons using lectures, discussions, visual aids and other effective teaching methods.
• Plan, prepare and adapt lesson outlines that cover curriculum standards.
• Administer, grade and analyze assessments to monitor student progress and behavior.
• Support state and local testing processes and policies.
• Utilize computers, audio‑visual equipment and other technology to enhance instruction.
• Provide tutoring and counseling for students needing extra help or academic guidance.
• Participate in faculty meetings, training sessions and school safety procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum SRT4 certification in French (P‑12) or GACE in French with Georgia PSC Certificate of Eligibility, or eligibility for a teaching permit.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Ability to be physically present in the school building and teach both in‑person and, when needed, remote learners.
• Strong communication, student‑management and professional collaboration skills.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing instructional needs and deadlines.
• Knowledge of school safety and security procedures.
