French Immersion Teacher – Early Childhood

About the role

The Language and Laughter Studio is seeking a full‑time Teacher to support French‑immersion learning in a play‑based, arts‑integrated preschool environment. You will join a multicultural team dedicated to fostering curiosity, creativity, and bilingual development in children aged 1–5.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons that blend French language instruction with art, music, movement, and nature exploration.
• Guide child‑led projects and facilitate both small‑group and whole‑class activities.
• Observe, document, and communicate children’s interests and progress to families.
• Collaborate with colleagues to continuously evolve an emergent curriculum responsive to each group’s needs.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment.
• Participate in professional development and contribute to school events, after‑school programs, and camps as needed.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in early childhood or elementary education.
• Experience designing lesson plans that support play‑based, arts‑integrated, child‑led learning.
• Clear, empathetic communication skills for interacting with children, families, and staff.
• Commitment to multicultural, inclusive, and anti‑bias education.
• Relevant degree or coursework in Education, Early Childhood Education, Language Education, or a related field preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency in spoken and written French; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus.
