French Immersion Teacher – Early Childhood

About the role

The Language and Laughter Studio is seeking a full‑time Teacher to join its Brooklyn campus. You will support French‑immersion learning for preschool‑aged children in a play‑based, arts‑integrated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons that blend French language, art, music, movement, and nature.
• Guide child‑led projects and facilitate both small‑group and whole‑class activities.
• Observe, document, and communicate children’s interests and progress to families.
• Collaborate with colleagues to evolve an emergent curriculum responsive to each group’s curiosity.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment.
• Participate in professional development and contribute to school events, after‑school programs, and camps.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in education with experience in early childhood or elementary settings.
• Ability to design play‑based, arts‑integrated, child‑led lessons.
• Clear, empathetic communication skills for children, families, and staff.
• Commitment to multicultural, inclusive, anti‑bias education.
• Relevant degree or coursework in Education, Early Childhood Education, Language Education, or related field (preferred).

Required skills

• Proficiency in French (spoken and written); bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus.
