Freelance SEO Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Freelance SEO Specialist to join a Jewish nonprofit organization on an ad‑hoc basis starting early August. You will lead the search engine optimization strategy, create clear content guidelines, and drive organic traffic to support engagement and philanthropic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive SEO strategy to improve website visibility and rankings.
• Establish content guidelines for web writing, covering tone, length, structure, and SEO best practices.
• Analyze high‑performing keywords and ensure effective integration across all content.
• Create a structured content plan, recommending posting frequency and volume.
• Audit and optimize existing content for engagement, conciseness, and SEO alignment.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure content aligns with brand messaging and web audience needs.
• Identify opportunities to increase donations and supporter engagement through SEO initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in SEO strategy, content optimization, and analytics.
• Strong understanding of how to write effective, web‑optimized content.
• Experience in nonprofit, philanthropy, or mission‑driven organizations preferred.
• Ability to translate SEO insights into actionable content plans.
• Familiarity with keyword research tools and SEO performance metrics.
