Four-Slide Setup / Operator

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Four‑Slide Setup / Operator to join our growing industrial manufacturing team in Bristol, CT. You will be responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting four‑slide and multi‑slide forming machines that produce precision metal stampings, springs, wire forms, and related components.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and run four‑slide / multi‑slide forming machines.
• Install, align, and adjust tooling, feed systems, and machine parameters.
• Troubleshoot machine, tooling, and production issues to maintain uptime.
• Read and interpret blueprints, tooling drawings, and specifications.
• Perform first‑piece and in‑process inspections using calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Support minor tooling repairs and adjustments.
• Document setup procedures and production records.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams while following safety and quality standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 + years of hands‑on experience with four‑slide or multi‑slide machine setup.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting abilities.
• Experience in metal stamping, spring manufacturing, or precision component environments.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Required skills

• Four‑slide / multi‑slide machine operation.
• Tooling installation, alignment, and adjustment.
• Blueprint and tooling drawing interpretation.
• Use of precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Mechanical troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Bihler, Nilson, or Torrington equipment (preferred).
• Basic toolroom or light tooling repair.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement practices (preferred).
