Founding Design Engineer

About the role

This is a founding‑level, high‑ownership position at the intersection of design and engineering. You will be the sole bar‑raiser for frontend UX in an early‑stage B2B SaaS company building an AI‑powered pricing optimization platform. Working directly with the founders and a small engineering team, you will shape the product’s visual and interaction quality from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end design system, including design tokens, a shadcn/ui‑based component library, and Tailwind CSS conventions.
• Define and enforce frontend patterns with React Query, React Hook Form, and Zod to ensure consistent, polished PRs.
• Design conversational interfaces for Slack Block Kit and Microsoft Teams Adaptive Cards, matching the core product’s visual quality.
• Codify WCAG accessibility standards into brand guidelines and the codebase.
• Maintain frontend tooling such as Biome, Playwright E2E tests, and performance optimizations.

Required profile

• 5+ years building product interfaces with a portfolio of shipped, high‑polish features.
• Primary ownership of a production design system or component library (public repo or detailed walkthrough required).
• Deep expertise in React, strict TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and component primitives like shadcn/ui and Radix UI.
• Authorized to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship).

• Salary range $180,000 – $220,000 USD per year.
