Forward Deployed Process Engineer Lead - R37

About the role

R1 RCM provides technology-driven solutions that transform the patient experience and financial performance of hospitals, health systems and medical groups. As a Forward Deployed Process Engineer Lead, you bridge executive strategy with operational execution, working closely with executives and production staff as a change champion. The role requires strong knowledge of healthcare metrics, process optimization and best-practice workflows, and involves travel of up to 50% to engage with clients and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Quantify use-case business cases by identifying customer objectives and measuring benefits and ROI
• Design and optimize consulting delivery processes with internal teams so use cases run consistently
• Lead and mentor Solution Consultants, keeping them aligned with client goals and operating metrics
• Work with consultants on product roadmaps, future-state process flows and implementation plans
• Help build training and change management plans to drive adoption of best practices
• Provide technical product and operational leadership throughout the solution lifecycle
• Evaluate emerging opportunities and recommend future use-case business cases
• Engage proactively with customers, resolve issues early and support KPI and SLA monitoring

Required profile

• At least 10 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, including HB and PB follow-up, denials and coding
• At least 5 years in a management role
• Significant experience in project management, process improvement and implementation support
• Adept with AI tools and enthusiastic about combining technology and operations
• Familiarity with healthcare operations or enterprise software environments preferred

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT/HCPCS coding guidelines and reimbursement methodologies
• AAPC or AHIMA certified coding professional (CIC, CPC, CCS, RHIA, RHIT) preferred
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and analytical skills

What we offer

• Base pay range of $175,000 to $306,101.78 per year, depending on role, level, location, skills and experience
• Annual bonus plan with a target of 25%
