Forward Deployed Process Engineer Lead - R37

About the role

R1 RCM provides technology-driven solutions that improve the patient experience and financial performance of hospitals, health systems and medical groups. As a Forward Deployed Process Engineer Lead, you bridge executive strategy with operational execution, working closely with executives and production staff as a change champion. The role involves significant travel (75% and up) to Gainesville, Florida, San Diego, California or Marietta, Georgia depending on assignment.

Key responsibilities

• Quantify use-case business cases by identifying customer objectives and measuring benefits and ROI.
• Design and optimize consulting delivery processes with internal teams so use cases run consistently.
• Lead and mentor Solution Consultants, keeping them aligned with client goals and operating metrics.
• Help build product roadmaps, future-state process flows and implementation plans.
• Support training and change management plans to drive adoption of best practices.
• Provide technical product and operational leadership throughout the solution lifecycle.
• Evaluate emerging opportunities and recommend future use-case business cases.
• Engage proactively with customers, resolve issues early and support monitoring of KPIs and SLAs.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years in healthcare revenue cycle management, including HB and PB follow-up, denials and coding.
• Minimum 5 years in a management role with experience working with executive stakeholders.
• Significant experience in project management, process improvement and implementation support.
• Adept with AI tools and enthusiastic about combining technology and operations.
• Familiarity with healthcare operations or enterprise software environments preferred.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT/HCPCS coding guidelines and reimbursement methods.
• AAPC or AHIMA certification (CIC, CPC, CCS, RHIA, RHIT) preferred.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and analytical skills.

What we offer

• Base pay range of $152,163 to $289,353 per year, depending on role, level, location, skills and experience.
