Forward Deployed Process Consultant - R37

About the role

R1 RCM Inc. is looking for a Mid-Cycle Forward Deployed Process Consultant to bridge executive-level strategy with operational execution. The role requires a deep understanding of medical coding, healthcare metrics, process optimization and best-practice workflows, and calls for someone who can communicate with both executives and production staff and act as a change champion. Work is on-site in Gautier, Mississippi, depending on assignment, with up to 50% travel to Gautier as required by client needs.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Process Engineers and consulting teams to deliver Phare Claim solutions by creating a product vision document, product roadmap and future-state process flow.
• Translate business requirements into technical architecture and implementation plans through a current-state mid-cycle assessment, including SOPs and process mapping.
• Provide technical and operational coding guidance throughout the engagement.
• Design implementation and stakeholder communication plans for client-specific use cases.
• Design end-user technology training and a change management plan to drive adoption and set up a feedback loop for ongoing support.
• Develop mechanisms to monitor KPIs and SLAs for steady-state operations.
• Collaborate with executive teams to align medical coding processes with strategic objectives.
• Analyze and optimize medical coding workflows using AI to improve efficiency.
• Serve as a liaison between executive leadership and operational teams.

Required profile

• AAPC or AHIMA certified coding professional (CIC, CPC, CCS, RHIA, RHIT) required for the mid-cycle coding-focused consultant.
• Experience in healthcare client-facing consulting.
• Significant experience in project management, process improvement and implementation support.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence key stakeholders.

Required skills

• Proficiency in data analysis, cross-functional collaboration and problem solving.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT/HCPCS coding guidelines and reimbursement methodologies.

What we offer

• Base pay range of $113,520 to $226,555.68 per year, depending on role, level, location, experience and education.
• Eligibility for an annual bonus plan at a target of 10%.
