Forward Deployed Engineering Lead

About the role

Lovable, a software creation platform for AI-powered software, is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineering Lead in New York City. You will build and lead an FDE team in your location, work alongside other FDE leaders to define how the function operates globally, and stay deeply hands-on: writing production code, building with your team and working directly with ambitious customers.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, develop and lead a team of Forward Deployed Engineers
• Work directly with customers to understand their workflows, needs and hardest technical problems
• Design, prototype and implement solutions personally alongside your team
• Own and guide projects from idea through architecture, shipping and iteration
• Set the technical bar through architecture decisions, code reviews and hands-on engineering
• Turn insights from customer deployments into platform improvements
• Partner with other FDE leads to shape standards, playbooks and global scaling
• Contribute to product strategy, technical decisions and cultural foundations

Required profile

• 12+ years across software engineering, technical architecture and customer-facing engineering
• Experience leading and developing high-performing technical teams
• Track record of staying hands-on as leadership scope grows
• Ability to move between coding, architecture, leading engineers and working with senior customer stakeholders
• Comfort in high-ambiguity, high-velocity environments

Required skills

• Full-stack engineering fundamentals across modern frontend and backend development
• Strong architectural thinking and familiarity with distributed systems
• Experience owning complex technical engagements end-to-end
• Bonus: building a team or function from zero, agentic AI or LLM production work, zero-to-one product, founding or early-stage startup experience, or work across high-growth startups, big tech, consulting or enterprise AI

The tech stack includes React, TypeScript, Go, Rust, Cloudflare, GCP, AWS, LLM providers, GitHub Actions, OTEL, Grafana and Terraform.
