Forward Deployed Engineer – AI Agent Engineer

About the role

Sema4.ai is building an enterprise AI Agent platform that redefines how knowledge work is done. As a Forward Deployed Engineer you will be the technical bridge between enterprise customers and our product team, designing, building and deploying custom AI agent solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy production‑ready AI agents that solve real business problems for enterprise customers.
• Gather and translate customer requirements into technical designs, define success criteria, and lead proof‑of‑concept development.
• Architect and implement custom AI agent solutions using LLMs, LangChain, CrewAI, n8n and RAG patterns.
• Provide hands‑on implementation support, including Python development, SQL database work and AWS infrastructure deployment.
• Act as Technical Account Manager, building deep relationships with customer technical teams and delivering workshops and training.

Required profile

• 3‑4+ years in a consulting, systems‑integration or forward‑deployed engineering role with enterprise customers.
• Proven track record of delivering production software solutions in large‑scale environments.
• Strong customer‑first mentality, high urgency and ability to work independently in a fast‑moving startup.

Required skills

• Python programming (rapid prototyping of apps).
• AWS services and deployment.
• SQL database integration and troubleshooting.
• LLMs, LangChain, CrewAI, n8n, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.
• API integration and software development best practices.
• Fundamentals of NLP, machine learning and automation.
