Formulary Strategy Pharmacist Lead

About the role

The Formulary Strategy Pharmacist Lead will use clinical and financial data to shape formulary strategies for Humana’s Medicare business. This role blends pharmacy expertise with managed‑care, PBM, market, and regulatory insights to control costs while improving member health outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement formulary strategies that mitigate cost trends and enhance health outcomes.
• Analyze clinical and financial data to create data‑driven recommendations for executive audiences.
• Collaborate across multiple departments and business partners to ensure timely and accurate implementation of formulary decisions.
• Leverage market trends and competitive intelligence to inform strategy development.
• Communicate formulary rationale clearly, aligning with guiding principles and enterprise objectives.

Required profile

• Pharmacy degree from an accredited school.
• Minimum 3 + years experience in managed care, health‑plan pharmacy, PBM, or a related environment.
• Strong knowledge of Medicare Part D formularies, benefit design, and regulatory considerations.
• Proven analytical, problem‑solving, and project‑management abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to senior leadership.
