Forensic Nurse Practitioner (Medical Examiner Office)

About the role

The Clark County Coroner/Medical Examiner's Office is seeking a qualified Forensic Nurse Practitioner to join its multidisciplinary medical team. This position supports death certification, evidence collection, and report preparation for cases within Clark County, Nevada.

Key responsibilities

• Perform death certification and complete medico‑legal reports.
• Collect, preserve, and document forensic evidence and biological specimens.
• Collaborate with medical examiners, forensic technicians, and law‑enforcement agencies.
• Provide expert testimony and consultation as needed.
• Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with accreditation standards.

Required profile

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program approved by the Nevada Board of Nursing.
• At least two (2) years of related clinical nursing experience.
• Current Nevada RN or APRN license.
• Valid Nevada Class C driver’s license.
• Board certification through the International Association of Forensic Nurses (IAFN) or a comparable entity (preferred).
• Successful completion of a background investigation.
