Food Service Worker 3 – Driver

About the role

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is hiring a Food Service Worker 3 (Driver) to support food operations at the Georgia Regional Hospital in Atlanta. This position involves preparing, heating, and serving meals while ensuring safety, sanitation, and accurate cash handling in a hospital environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, heat, finish cooking, and serve food items to residents, employees, and patrons.
• Clean work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware.
• Handle cash transactions and receive payments for food items.
• Maintain food supplies, replenish condiments, and store food to prevent spoilage.
• Assist with food supply requisitions, sanitation, and maintenance inspections.
• Observe safety, sanitation, and health regulations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of experience in a food service department (hospital experience preferred).
• Ability to pass state and national background checks.

Required skills

• Use of manual and electric food preparation appliances.
• Cash handling and payment processing.
