About the role

Join the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities at Georgia Regional Hospital in Decatur as a Food Service Worker 2. You will prepare, heat, finish, and serve meals to residents, employees, and patrons while ensuring a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, heat, finish, and portion food items for service.
• Clean work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware.
• Handle cash transactions and receive payment for food items.
• Maintain inventory, replenish supplies, and store food safely to prevent spoilage.
• Assist with food supply requisitions, sanitation, and maintenance inspections.
• Observe and enforce safety, sanitation, and health standards.

Required profile

• At least six months experience in a food‑service environment; hospital experience preferred.
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets is desirable.
• Ability to pass a state‑required national and state background check.
• Strong attention to safety, sanitation, and health regulations.

Required skills

• Food preparation using manual and electric appliances.
• Cash handling and payment processing.
