About the role

Join the West Central Georgia Regional Hospital in Columbus as a Food Service Worker 1. Under direct supervision you will learn to prepare, heat and finish cooking food items, serve customers, and handle cash transactions in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, heat and finish cooking a variety of food items according to recipes and safety standards.
• Serve meals and beverages to patients, staff and visitors.
• Receive and disburse money in the food service area, ensuring accurate transactions.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes and silverware.
• Assist with receiving deliveries and stocking supplies as needed.

Required profile

• Ability to work under direct supervision and follow established procedures.
• Basic math skills for handling cash transactions.
• Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Willingness to undergo required drug screening, TB test, annual influenza vaccination and background checks.
