Food Service Specialist – South Paw Café

About the role

The University of Arkansas Pulaski Technical College is seeking a Food Service Specialist to work in the South Paw Café located at the Little Rock South campus. Reporting to the Sous Chef, you will help deliver high‑quality dining experiences for students, staff, and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Work Monday‑Friday, 6:30 am–3:00 pm, with occasional night or weekend shifts for special events.
• Maintain high standards of quality control, hygiene, and health‑safety in all food‑service areas.
• Greet customers, take orders, and operate the cash register, handling cash and credit‑card transactions accurately.
• Balance the cash drawer at the end of each shift.
• Follow opening and closing procedures for Bistro service setup and equipment.
• Keep the front‑of‑house clean and orderly, including food stations, trash areas, and workstations.
• Stock and replenish beverages, cups, and related supplies.

Required profile

• Available for the scheduled weekday hours and flexible for occasional evenings or weekends.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work under the direct supervision of the Sous Chef.
• Customer‑service oriented with a professional demeanor.

Required skills

• Cash register operation and accurate transaction handling.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and health‑safety standards.
