Food Service Coordinator / Cafe Chef (In‑School, No Nights/Weekends)

About the role

Red Rabbit is seeking a detail‑oriented Food Service Coordinator to act as the operational link between the kitchen team and school partners, ensuring meals are served accurately, safely, and on time during school hours.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily meal service, portioning, staging and presentation to meet NSLP requirements and visual standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized service line and monitor food temperatures, sanitation and overall kitchen organization.
• Maintain accurate meal counts, operational records and documentation; support compliance with NSLP, allergy protocols and company policies.
• Serve as the day‑to‑day liaison between kitchen staff and school partners, communicating updates and addressing operational concerns.
• Follow Red Rabbit food safety standards, HACCP procedures and applicable federal, state and local regulations.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years experience in an operational or administrative role supporting cross‑functional teams.
• Strong organizational, administrative and customer‑service skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Passion for improving nutrition in schools and commitment to social‑justice values.

Required skills

• Proficiency with basic computer systems and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
• Ability to lift 50 lb regularly.
• Knowledge of USDA National School Lunch Program (NSLP) requirements (preferred).
• Bilingual English/Spanish (preferred).
