FOIA Analyst – Government Compliance

About the role
The FOIA Analyst will support agency compliance with the Freedom of Information Act, reviewing appeals, processing requests, and assisting with litigation defense. This full‑time position is based in Washington, D.C., and requires Top Secret eligibility.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure agency compliance under FOIA and the Privacy Act of 1974.
- Review administrative appeals and track legal compliance requests.
- Process FOIA record requests and conduct relevant searches.
- Respond to inquiries and assist with FOIA litigation defense.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering and a J.D. degree.
- Active membership in at least one bar.
- 2‑5 years of related legal research or civil litigation experience.
- Top Secret eligibility.
Required skills
- Strong legal research and excellent writing abilities.
- Knowledge of FOIA and administrative/civil litigation processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
