Float CMA

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a Float CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) in its Riverview, Florida clinic. The role travels as needed to meet staffing needs and supports clinic operations, working full-time on a day shift.

Key responsibilities

• Travel as needed to fulfill staffing needs and support clinic operations.
• Keep up to date with policies and procedures and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
• Maintain education requirements and demonstrate competency through annual clinical competencies and written tests.
• Prepare patients and equipment for treatment, initiate testing and document results in the practice's system.
• Ensure OSHA compliance and follow safety processes.
• Provide whole care during office visits, including intake, test results, screenings, labs, medication administration and closing care gaps.
• Perform clinical intake: screenings, history taking, vital signs and medication reconciliation.
• Assist with minor procedures and ensure accurate documentation.
• Educate patients on tests, medications and diet.
• Monitor and manage inventory and medical equipment.
• Maintain confidentiality of employee and patient information and support teamwork.

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• 1+ year of related work experience preferred.
• Certification as a CMA, CMAC, RMA, NCMA, CCMA or NRCMA, plus a BLS/CPR certificate.
• Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend English and use computers.

• Ability to work independently and handle stressful situations.
