Certified CMA (Day Shift)

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a Certified CMA on a full-time day shift in Riverview, Florida. The role travels as needed to meet staffing needs and supports clinic operations, with a pay range of $17.28 to $27.65.

Key responsibilities

• Keep up to date with policies and procedures and stay compliant with organizational standards.
• Maintain education requirements and demonstrate competency through annual clinical competencies and written tests.
• Prepare patients and equipment for treatment, initiate testing and document results in the practice's system.
• Ensure OSHA compliance and follow safety processes.
• Provide whole care during office visits, including intake, test results, screenings, labs, medication administration and closing care gaps.
• Perform clinical intake: screenings, history taking, vital signs and medication reconciliation.
• Assist with minor procedures and ensure accurate documentation.
• Educate patients on tests, medications and diet.
• Monitor and manage inventory and medical equipment.
• Maintain confidentiality of employee and patient information and support teamwork.

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Certification: CMA, CMAC, RMA, AMT RMA, NCMA, CCMA or NRCMA, plus Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR.
• 1+ year of related work experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently within the scope of certification and handle stressful, fast-paced situations.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the healthcare field and medical terminology.
• Knowledge of chronic disease management.
• Expertise in patient advocacy and navigating complex systems.
• Effective communication in English, computer literacy and legible typing.
