About the role

The Fleet Specialist III leads coordination, monitoring, and management of the Incident Response Department’s vehicles and equipment at Texas A&M University. The role involves field inspections, troubleshooting, record‑keeping, and delivering related training.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct field inspections of vehicles and equipment, verify maintenance needs, and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Develop troubleshooting processes, evaluate repair options, and recommend preventive actions including training or parts ordering.
• Maintain up‑to‑date maintenance and repair documentation for all fleet assets.
• Provide equipment‑related training and serve as unit instructor for transport operations courses.
• Prepare narrative and statistical reports on fleet performance and support emergency response activities.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Six years of related experience in fleet or equipment management.
• Valid Texas Commercial Class B Driver’s License.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems.
