Fleet Diesel Mechanic

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Fleet Diesel Mechanic to join our growing team in Gillette, Wyoming. This hands‑on shop position focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of diesel trucks, semi‑trucks, trailers, and support vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair diesel trucks and fleet equipment, including Peterbilt, Kenworth, Freightliner, and Western Star models.
• Perform preventative maintenance, oil and fluid changes, filter replacements, and DOT inspections to keep the fleet road‑ready.
• Repair diesel engines, transmissions, electrical systems, air and brake systems, steering, suspension, fuel, and hydraulic systems.
• Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, parts used, and inspections while ensuring a clean, safe work environment.

Required profile

• 2+ years of professional experience repairing diesel trucks or similar fleet vehicles (3–5+ years preferred).
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Must supply and maintain personal mechanic hand tools and meet company drug and alcohol testing requirements.

Required skills

• Diagnostic equipment, service manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Electronic diagnostic software and maintenance/work‑order systems.
• Basic welding and fabrication.
• Knowledge of CDLASE Medium/Heavy Truck certifications (preferred).
