Firewall Administrator

About the role

The Firewall Administrator will configure, manage, and maintain FortiGate security devices to protect the company’s network across multiple sites in Southern California. This on‑site role involves daily troubleshooting, firmware updates, and incident response to ensure a secure IT environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and maintain FortiGate firewalls, including policy rules, routing, and high‑availability setups.
• Manage site‑to‑site and remote‑access VPNs (IPsec, SSL) and monitor network traffic for threats.
• Monitor and respond to security incidents, manage IPS/IDS, and implement web/application filtering.
• Perform firmware updates, hardware refreshes, and apply security patches.
• Document configurations, create SOPs, and ensure compliance with security standards.
• Travel to local sites for hardware replacement, installation, and troubleshooting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity or related field (preferred).
• 3–5+ years of experience in network administration, security, or firewall administration.
• Hands‑on experience with FortiGate firewalls and FortiManager.
• Experience supporting multi‑site environments and VPN implementations.
