Finishing Engineer – Powder Paint Specialist

About the role

The Ranger Group is seeking a Finishing Engineer with deep expertise in powder paint processes to lead the finishing department for a high‑performance building products manufacturer in Fort Worth. You will own the full coating lifecycle, from chemical pretreatment through final cure, ensuring durability, aesthetic quality, and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, document, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for powder coating and pretreatment lines.
• Monitor finished‑goods quality, perform inspections, and troubleshoot defects such as orange peel, adhesion failure, flaking, or improper cure.
• Control pretreatment chemical concentrations via routine titration and manage powder paint inventory.
• Ensure wastewater documentation and environmental compliance with city, state, and OSHA regulations.
• Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives to boost throughput, reduce defects, and minimize waste.
• Collaborate with chemical and powder vendors to optimize product performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in industrial powder paint processes.
• Proven track record of process improvement and continuous‑improvement leadership.
• Ability to work independently, make data‑driven decisions, and manage multiple priorities.
• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and safety program management.
