Finish Dozer Operator – Heavy Civil Construction

About the role

Granite Construction is seeking a motivated Finish Dozer Operator to join its heavy civil construction team. The role focuses on precise grading, leveling, and site preparation using a variety of heavy equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate finish dozers and other heavy machinery such as loaders, excavators, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, backhoes, and horizontal drilling equipment.
• Fasten attachments, connect hydraulic hoses, belts, and power take‑off shafts.
• Control levers and pedals to maneuver equipment and achieve specified grades.
• Monitor engine performance and estimate cut depth by feel and sound.
• Perform routine greasing, oiling, and minor repairs on tractors and attachments.

Required profile

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program.
• Proper certification for operating heavy equipment.
• Ability to work in dusty or dirty environments and follow safety procedures.
• Physical capability to stoop, bend, lift up to 50 lb, and handle frequent lifting of 25 lb objects.
