The Senior Financial Counseling Specialist provides expert financial guidance to patients and families within the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. This role ensures patients understand their financial responsibilities, assists with insurance navigation, and connects them to appropriate assistance programs.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive financial counseling to patients, addressing billing, insurance coverage, and payment options.
• Coordinate with clinical and administrative teams to verify insurance eligibility and resolve billing issues.
• Identify and refer eligible patients to financial assistance, charity care, and grant programs.
• Maintain accurate documentation of counseling interactions and financial agreements.
• Stay current with federal, state, and institutional financial policies and compliance requirements.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in financial counseling, preferably within a healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of insurance billing, patient financial assistance programs, and healthcare finance regulations.
