Financial Controller – Remote (HK/US)

About the role

TuCha, a fast‑growing ice‑cream and CPG company operating across China, Hong Kong and the United States, is seeking a hands‑on Financial Controller. This remote position will support the CEO and COO, own cash management, reporting and compliance for both US and Hong Kong entities, and act as a strategic finance partner.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the CEO/COO on financial analysis for pricing, unit economics, expansion feasibility and capital allocation.
• Manage cash‑flow planning, forecasting, accounts receivable and payable across all entities.
• Prepare, book and file statutory audits and tax reports in the US (federal and state) and Hong Kong (IRD filings).
• Build and manage budgets for capital projects, retail store build‑outs and new product lines.
• Maintain accurate books under US GAAP and HK accounting standards; oversee month‑end and quarter‑end close.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors and accounting firms in both jurisdictions.
• Track unit economics for retail locations, including store‑level P&L, COGS, labor and occupancy costs.
• Handle import/export cost accounting, landed‑cost analysis and inventory reconciliation for perishable goods.
• Monitor transfer pricing and inter‑company transactions between US and HK entities.
• Support fundraising with financial models, data‑room preparation and investor reporting.
• Ensure compliance with US sales, use and multi‑state retail taxes; manage payroll‑related financial processes.
• Design and improve financial systems, controls and processes as the company scales.

Required profile

• Native proficiency in English and Chinese/Cantonese; business‑level fluency in at least two of English, Mandarin, Cantonese.
• 5+ years of experience in a financial controller or senior accounting role.
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and Hong Kong accounting standards.
• Familiarity with US federal/state tax codes and Hong Kong tax regulations.
• Experience managing multi‑entity, multi‑currency accounting.
• Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks or Xero.
• Comfort building financial models in Excel or Google Sheets.
• Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
