Financial Controller – Manufacturing

About the role

Our client, a manufacturing organization in Colorado Springs, is seeking a hands‑on Financial Controller to lead the finance and accounting function. This leadership role blends detailed financial management with team mentorship to drive performance and support operational decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee financial reporting, journal entries, account reconciliations and internal controls.
• Provide hands‑on leadership, coaching, and mentoring to accounting team members.
• Evaluate and improve accounting processes, map workflow, and close gaps.
• Partner with Operations to maintain accurate costing procedures and analyze key cost drivers such as purchasing, labor and overhead.
• Support monthly forecasts, annual budgets and operational financial planning.
• Lead internal and external audits and manage regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with Corporate Finance on accounting policies, special projects and process improvements.
• Deliver financial reporting and analysis to department leaders and senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience leading financial teams.
• Cost accounting experience and strong understanding of the full accounting cycle.
• Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams and adapt to changing business conditions.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Working knowledge of percentage‑of‑completion accounting.
