Financial Controller

About the role

The Financial Controller will lead all accounting functions for Gecko Hospitality’s corporate office in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area. This full‑time, on‑site position is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting strategic decision‑making across the hospitality recruiting business.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the general ledger, month‑end and year‑end close processes, and produce timely financial statements.
• Prepare and monitor budgets, cash flow forecasts, and variance analyses.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
• Coordinate external audits and implement audit recommendations.
• Analyze financial performance and deliver insights to senior leadership.
• Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and internal controls.
• Mentor and develop finance and accounting staff while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
• Proven experience in financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls, preferably in a corporate or hospitality environment.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• High integrity in handling confidential financial information.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel and financial analysis tools.
• Experience preparing financial statements and reports.
