Financial Controller

About the role

Blue Sky Supply Chain and Logistics is seeking a hands‑on Financial Controller to own the accounting function in a fast‑moving global logistics environment. You will work closely with leadership, logistics, and operations teams to ensure that financial records accurately reflect day‑to‑day business activity and support the company’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Oversee billing activities to ensure revenue and cost of sales are recorded in the correct period.
• Maintain general ledger integrity through regular bank and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Analyze shipment and job‑level profitability, identifying discrepancies and reporting accurate margins.
• Handle accounts receivable functions: invoicing, cash application, and collections support.
• Supervise accounts payable, ensuring vendor invoices are accurate, approved, and processed promptly.
• Coordinate tax processes, including quarterly estimated tax payments and support for external tax preparation.
• Partner with logistics and operations to improve workflows, data quality, and financial accuracy.
• Build and enhance accounting processes, controls, and documentation to support scalability.
• Provide leadership with clear, accurate financial insights and reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in accounting, billing, and financial reporting within a complex, operational environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret profitability data.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate financial records.
