Financial Controller

About the role

Zocks is building an AI‑driven platform for financial advisors and needs a seasoned Financial Controller to own the end‑to‑end accounting function. You will shape the finance infrastructure as the company scales rapidly.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the monthly and quarterly close, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP.
• Design and scale accounting processes using AI‑native tools and automated workflows.
• Prepare internal financial statements, management reporting packages, and other deliverables for leadership.
• Serve as the in‑house authority on ASC 606, ASC 718, consolidations, and other complex accounting topics.
• Own the full audit lifecycle, from documentation to auditor coordination.
• Manage sales tax, multistate and international registrations, and coordinate income‑tax matters with external advisors.
• Oversee cash management, banking relationships, and treasury reporting.
• Build and maintain a scalable internal control environment and documentation standards.
• Consolidate financials across multiple legal entities, currencies, and handle intercompany eliminations and FX accounting.

Required profile

• CPA certification, preferably with Big Four audit experience.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including senior controller or accounting leadership roles in venture‑backed SaaS companies.
• Proven ability to bring structure and process to fast‑growth startup environments.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, ASC 606, ASC 718, and SaaS revenue recognition.
