Financial Controller

About the role

We are a founder‑owned luxury transportation company operating an asset‑light model across multiple entities and states. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will own the accounting infrastructure that supports our next stage of growth, driving technical excellence and process optimization.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, improving timelines and accuracy.
• Prepare and present US GAAP financial statements, focusing on revenue recognition, multi‑entity consolidation, and contractor/vendor accounting.
• Maintain and enhance the general ledger in Workday Financials, including chart of accounts, intercompany entries, and eliminations.
• Assess and design a right‑sized internal control framework and implement automation to reduce manual work.
• Serve as primary liaison for external auditors and coordinate federal and multi‑state tax filings.
• Lead a small accounting team, setting expectations, developing skills, and fostering a culture of accuracy.
• Own Workday Financials from an accounting perspective and partner with IT to optimize configurations and integrations.

Required profile

• Deep technical accounting expertise with proven experience in US GAAP and complex consolidations.
• Track record of building and documenting accounting policies and processes.
• Strong audit and tax coordination experience across multiple jurisdictions.
• Ability to lead and develop a small accounting team.
• Proactive mindset toward automation, AI tools, and continuous improvement.
