Financial Controller – Home Health Care Services

About the role

Our client, a leading multi‑state home health care provider, is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to strengthen its accounting function. Based in Brooklyn, you will partner with executive leadership to support rapid growth while ensuring high‑quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day accounting operations: general ledger, AP, AR, payroll, fixed assets, cash management.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and produce GAAP‑compliant financial statements.
• Maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and coordinate annual audits.
• Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and account reconciliations across multiple entities.
• Support tax compliance and collaborate with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Provide financial reporting and actionable insights to executive leadership.
• Mentor and develop the accounting team, recruiting additional staff as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Proven leadership as a Controller or Assistant Controller in a multi‑entity organization.
• Experience managing teams of at least three staff members.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and audit practices.
• Ability to evaluate and improve accounting processes and workflows.
